It's more than place to walk, shop, and have dinner. On a Saturday afternoon or evening it's common to see the local DJ spin a few tunes to include the Cupid Shuffle. It's fun to watch families participate in the festivities are get in line and slide yourself. Above the dancing area is a large big screen featuring music videos, which makes an outdoor dance club for everyone.
The parking ticket offers a $5 discount at the movie theaters where you can see the latest film. This time around, my family and I went to see 3 D experience with Tarzan. Expecting to take our seats put on our 3 D glasses, we entered the theater and saw the audience seated in reclining chairs. Where once the excitement was to see movies come to life. Our experience was to be able to sit in a comfy, leather reclining chair.
City Walk has come along way since it's first opening days. Our family stops are Popcornopoulis, the Dodger Clubhouse Store, and watching the kids running through the dancing water fountains.
There are a few more things I would love to try LudoBird Fried Chicken & I am waiting for Voodoo Donuts to open up in the Fall. Since it is attached to the Universal Studios, it has it's share of tourists. Of course the Universal Studios Souvenir Shop is fun to walk through and by a Harry Potter cape & wand. Since my roots are from Los Angeles, I consider myself one of the locals. City Walk is a hangout, where you pick and choose what you want to see. Perhaps it's a day where you just want to people watch.
My recommendations, park after 5:00 p.m., the parking is lower but the night life begins. You get a smaller rebate on the movie ticket, but the nightlife comes out. There are plenty of nightclubs & dining for a sexy date. However, it you just want to bring your kids and grandkids, there is plenty to do.
