It only made sense that the Olasimans got married at the Disney Aulani. When I first met Jessica, she and Justin spent every holiday possible at Disneyland, California. Justin even proposed there. It took a little convincing, but the idea of a destination wedding at one of Disney's properties soon became appealing. They have good packages and what better way to celebrate than in the destination with a beautiful beach?
A little bit about the Aulani:
The Aulani is pretty resort. Disney delivers it's usual fashion of detail which captures the culture, history, and the legends of the Hawaiian Islands. Aulani pays homage to the Hawaiians through extensive art in the interior and exterior of the hotel.
The name Aulani is feminine meaning messenger or messenger of the chief.
To the staff that work there and the people that visit, it simply the gathering place.
The design has meaning throughout the resort. The lobby, the halls, and the entranceway reflect the nature of the islands with each mural touching one another. The murals facing the ocean reflect waves and currents. The murals facing the mountains reflect etchings of women with the mats or the culture of the land.
It is upon the very entry of the Aulani that the Disney Experience begins.
Upon entering the Aulani families are welcomed to their Hawaiian home for a few days or more.
Calling the Aulani home extends to being able to say "I do" in Hawaii as well The backdrop of the Aulani wedding face the beach shores of Ko olina. Unpretentious, designed for families it is a beautiful way to spend special moments with friends and loved ones.
Upon arrival, the Aulani wedding coordinator and the team prepares the couples for their wedding.
Several months in advance, the couple has worked with the Aulani to prepare for their wedding.
Appointments are made in advance for the final details such as meeting with the DJ, the wedding coordinator, and site inspections.
Based on the room category selected by the couple, the Aulani takes in account of providing the best experience possible. Based on availability, the team at Disney offers attractive incentives with their group arrangements that may offer a free night. The Olasimans, selected an oceanfront one bedroom villa. The Aulani provided a beautiful oceanfront view with double balconies.
Family and friends enjoyed special moments together as well as a private ceremony joining Jessica and Justin.
.
You can either love the selfie stick or hate it. Hold the handle straight, and you have a great picture.
The beauty of having a wedding with the beach backdrop, is that taking a picture is irresistable.
Technology has changed. Aulani has immediate wi-fi which permits friends and family to stay in touch with the ones who are not able to join the wedding, keeping peace of mind while you are away.
Aulani, the gathering place. Moments before the wedding families mingle with each other, staying out of the heat, in the cool shade.
There is nothing like taking your own pictures before the professional photographers arrive. Saving those precious memories to reminisce and share with friends when the guests get back home. These are the ones with stories, the ones that everyone goes home and create an album.
Guests take their seats as the ceremony time nears.
The ceremony itself is rather short. The moments are memorable. Marriage between two people who truly love each other is timeless. As Jessica walked down the aisle that day, everyone felt their heart stop. A beautiful young lady, now a beautiful woman. Her new husband was anxious but excited. They were young lovers, together longer than some much older than them.
The next few pictures are just some moments captured. Faces imprinted from the Olasiman wedding. Happy family. Jessica was the youngest daughter. Getting away to a tropical destination, was a little bit out of the ordinary for them. With such a beautiful backdrop, nothing could go wrong.
As we Jessica and Justin were whisked away for pictures. The group was led to the reception area. Decor was in true Disney style, with Mickey decor. It only made sense that Mickey & Minnie were at the party too.
Light hors d'oeuvre in the reception area, and bar with a two drink maximum.
Disney does everything first class. The hors d'oeuvre was only the beginning. Once we were led into the ballroom. A full course dinner, including a little something catered to the children was inside.
In true Mickey and Minnie style, the decor reflected the couple's love for Disney which included the Mickey and Minnie ears.
For the guests who could not make the wedding, the Olasimans asked us to post on social media during the wedding. It was called "Share Love" #Meet the Olasimans...My first viral wedding.
The Disney Aulani is great place not only families to enjoy as a resort. The weddings are designed so that the children enjoy as well. Needless to say, the reception was fun. The Disney team provided a great DJ, great music, and good food.
Crystal Castles
And so the "Happily ever after couple" got married at the Disney Aulani. When everything was done, all the guests headed to the beach.
